Preloading in "Action and Shortcuts"

I would like to be able to program the control buttons for preloading a song in the “Actions and Shortcuts” section.

What do you mean by that? Songs are always „preloaded“, you can also activate „File/Preload“ to „prime“ Part assets (Layers etc).

I mean, if I forget to preload song to get a way to do it quickly with pressing one key on midi controller without using menu and mouse.

Still don’t understand. You can select a Song via MIDI using “Devices/Actions and Shortcuts/Project/Next/Previous/Selcet Song” and it will be loaded. There is no “pre-load” other than the File/Preload function which does this for all Songs. “Pre-loading” a Song right before it is loaded doesn’t make sense, as “pre-” loading is part of the, well, load process. And if you mean to preload a Song (different from the one currently playing) in the background, sorry, it is not possible to maintain two Songs at the same time yet (remember, a Song is like an entire Cubase project).

I’m talking about this feature. It can only be accessed through the menu, and there’s a confirmation process. In real-time, I would like to be able to start it with a single press of the MIDI controller.

Why not clicking “always preload”?

Because
When the checkbox “Always Preload” is set, every time I open the project, all the songs start to load and it takes a very long time, sometimes the program crashes and I have to start from the beginning.

If I need three songs from the project for a rehearsal, I don’t need to load everything.

By the way, starting from release 80, the program started crashing very often at random times, and it even happens during the playback of songs, which was not the case before.

We added an “Application/Preload Song” action for the next version. Note this omits the dialog and shows a white bar at the bottom of the app (because menu is blocked during preload), and it will do nothing if transport is started.

It’s great that there won’t be a dialog box  I just need to be able to do it quickly if I forget to do it on time.
