Ah, I see a reference to those cool lyrics from 1973 : ![]()
You better beware, you better take care,
you better watch out if you forgot to make a Wiederherstellungspuuuunkt .
Hi CKB, in your latest release notes you wrote under the topic āfurther corrections and notesā: āThe entire script code has been revised and partially reprogrammed. This has fixed a number of minor bugs.ā
In the past, I had a few sporadic problems, but very rarely. Now Iāve noticed that since your update on September 30, 2025, I havenāt had any problems at all. fp-wizard is now running 100% stable for me. Your work is very professional! Thank you very much!
Note:
I have not encountered any problems with Cubase 15 and fp-wizard so far.
Best regards
CKB

Greetings, Christian! I saw In manual that You can control Pre-gain level with a knob, could You please tell how I could setup this function? Is this something I should do through midi mapping assistant or with programs on device itself?
Hi @shredatormail,
if you have installed the latest version of fp-wizard, hereās how to set the PreGain Levelā¦
First, switch to the EQ Mode on the FaderPort by pressing the Bypass+Master or Shift+Master Buttons or the Master Button outgoing from the Shift Page.
You can only access the PF Mode (PreFilter Mode) outgoing from the EQ Mode. To do this, press the Master Button within the EQ Mode to enter the PF Mode.
In the PF Mode, you can immediately turn the knob to adjust the PreGain Level. You can also select another parameter using these three Buttons: Click Button = PreGain Level, Section Button = Low Cut Freq, Marker Button = High Cut Freq.
To quit the PF Mode, press the Master Button or the Shift Button.
In summary, do the following:
Press Shift+Master and then Master to assign the PreGain Level to the knob.
I hope that was clear enough for you. ![]()
Thanks! All working as it should! ![]()
I think I need a guide about how to read a manual!
In an earlier (2022 i think) version i managed to have the middle knob control PreGain Level. After a preferences delete, whatever i try, the middle knob will always control track panning. I can assign PreGain and it works, but it will still stick to the panning. I canāt figure out how to get rid of that. Is that still possible somehow?
Edit: figured it out, just pressing the Channel button brought it back.
new update available - December 2, 2025
Dear friends,
here comes a new (small) update of fp-wizard.
This update adds a new global transport function to the script.
To make working with the marker functionalities even more flexible,
you can now use the following function with a button combination from the FaderPort:
- Cycle + Play = Play until next Marker
There are various use cases where this new function is useful. This new function can be executed when the playback of the actual project is stopped, but also afterwards when the playback is already running. It doesnāt matter which button (Cycle or Play) is pressed first.
Note: The locators (left and right) are not markers.
This function naturally makes sense in combination with setting the four Quick Markers in this way:
- Cycle + Master = set Marker 1
- Cycle + Click = set Marker 2
- Cycle + Section = set Marker 3
- Cycle + Marker = set Marker 4
In addition, the following error has been fixed:
Since the last update of September 30, 2025, which optimized the internal transport functions, there has been an error with the transport functions
āPlay at half speedā [via hold Play + RWD] and āPlay at double speedā [via hold Play + FWD].
These two functions are now working correctly again.
Here is the script file PreSonus_FaderPort.js (version 02.12.2025) in this zip-file:
fp-wizard_20251202.zip (115.0 KB)

new update available - December 2, 2025
Dear friends,
I fixed another bug. I revised the last post and described the bug there. So anyone who had already downloaded the version (which I removed) from November 30, 2025, would need to download the newer version from December 2, 2025.
Best regards

*** update news ***
Dear Friends,
over the past two years, Iāve been asked several times
for to implement an option for Combined Panners
of being able to adjust both channels seperately,
i.e., not only the left channel but also the right channel,
with the Rotate Knob.
I will provide this feature with the next update.
Promised! ![]()

Thatās a great update, Christian! We really appreciate your continued efforts!
Thanks so much for the great work, again! This really is incredible.
HI CKB. Iām not sure what im doing wrong. I feel like I followed all the directions and did everything extra but im having a problem. Im using Cubase 15 pro. As soon as I power up the Faderport v2 its working great but soon as I start using the Fader it will freeze up. Especially if I try to use the fader on the Master track. Do you have any idea what step I might have missed to cause this to continue to happen? This Script is so much appreciated thank you so much!
Hi CKB I think I actually got it working. I found your most recent scrip you posted about 10 days ago and used that plus I deleted Mackie Controller I noticed was still in remote devices and it seems to be working now and not freezing up. The only thing I donāt know how to do yet is cycle through my mixer tracks. There must be a way I just havenāt quite figured it out yet. If anyone knows off the bat that would be great. Thanks so much!
Hi philoso803,
good to know that you were able to solve the problem yourself.
Regarding your question about how to scroll through all tracks of your project using the knob: There are 20 Modes available in fp-wizard and one of which is the Channel Mode, which you can select for your purpose.
However, there is also a global function called GTS (= Global Track Scroll). It is explained in footnote 27 in the functional overview. To use GTS, hold down the Cycle Button and turn the Rotate Knob while holding the Cycle Button.
For beginners, the overview PDF seems very compact, but many users would like to be able to find everything on one page so that they have maximum space on their desk for production. More detailed explanations can be found in the release notes, which unfortunately are only sorted in the order in which the current updates are released.
At some point, there will of course be a comprehensive manual explaining all the functions in order, and perhaps a few tutorial videos as well. At the moment, however, time is still being spent on developing further functions.
Best regards
CKB
Sweet! Ty very much. I just need to use your guide and start playing around with it and trying stuff. Iām so happy you made this. When I first got it going it was all over the place. Buttons were playing notes and the fader was doing like a pitch bend lol. Thanks again for all your hard work
Hi. Sorry my question will be newbie level. I use the faderport with this dedicated script at a very low skill level , just basic paning, volume adjustment, parameter under the mouse ajdjutsment.
I donāt understand how the writing and reading of automation works. First time I tried, of course the fader moved in real time following the previous automation curve I made, but I wanted to adjust it, pushing against the motor while writing. I guess thatās why my faderport then needed a factory reset and calibration.
I once read online (I spent 1h trying to find it again, no sucess) that a mode exists to not read the automation, no motor moving the fader while writing, but the moves made by my finger would be applied not as a strict value , but as + or - added to the initial value.
Like if the second round of automation writing was to fine-tune the first one
Is it something I have to configure in Cubase ? Or a mode in the scprit ? Or just a dream of mine ?
I tried the three cubase automation mode Touch, Auto-Latch, and Cross-Over, not doing the wanted behaviour
regards
Clement
EDIT 01 min after the post :
It is a function in Cubase called TRIM. English is not my native language, so the function didnāt occured immediatly to me by reading the word. Too bad, the idea of āfine tuningā in my post was here
I guess I have to activate/deactivate that Trim function in the Cubase automation Pannel , no shortcut exist for the faderport right ?
