PreSonus FaderPort 2 (2018) midi remote script

@losanF

Yes, fp-wizard will continue to work with earlier versions of Cubase. Where a newer version is required, the code will be encapsulated.

You can find the documentation for the MIDI Remote API here:

I would still recommend updating to 15.0.21, as MIDI Remote has now been improved so that settings are no longer lost. Only today, Steinberg is offering a discount on the update.

Yes, fp-wizard has 20 Modes, and the AI Mode is one of them. The different Modes are designed for different things to do. In addition, many functions are global, meaning they are available in all Modes, such as transport functions.

Hi Frank,
I don’t understand that. With Cubase 15.0.21, Steinberg has now made the biggest leap ever with an update. You better check again what is new now. And for that, you only pay 69.99 euros now - that’s almost for free.

Well, I did check again, and I didn’t mean it’s bad.

I sure appreciate all the workflow improvements - that’s actually the only reason I thought about updating - Right now I don’t have a need for the other features.

But more important to me currently is to replace my old PC.

I’m a Cubase user since V. 4 and for sure I’ll be updating when Cubase 16 will be around.

Cheers

Thanks Christian for the link !

I’ll have a look at it.

In regards to lost settings - not quite sure what you mean.

But I always start with a custom template, maybe that’s why I had no problems so far.

Cheers, Frank

But that doesn’t make financial sense.
You could upgrade from 14 to 15 for 70 euros.
If you upgrade from 14 to 16 later, you’ll pay 200 euros.

Well,

it’s allready to late now.

And I guess there will be a discount to version 16 sometimes.

I don’t need to jump on the bus right at a release of a new version.

Anyway, Thanks for your suggestions and Cheers,

Frank

I just acquired a Faderport (mostly as a remote for tracking by myself, my mixing setup relies on EUCON) and I configured it as a MIDI Remote using your script. What an amazing piece of work! Thank you!
