To my surprise I haven’t been able to find a topic about this except one from 2017, so forgive me for asking. I have to submit a piece to a publisher who wants the work number and their website in the footer of every page (score and parts). In extreme cases this leads to situations like this:
I don’t want to make my music frame margins so large that they accomodate for these outliers because that would leave way too much white space on the vast majority of the pages. Is there any way to tell Dorico that the content of a music frame should not be allowed to extend into a text frame? Or am I really looking at a page override ( )? (I’m also contemplating flipping that dotted eighth/triplet combo but I’d really rather not. Then again, that’s less risky than creating a page override).
If page overrides or manipulating the music are the only solutions, please consider this a feature request for an option to not allow Dorico to extend the content of a music frame into another frame.
Glad I asked because that hadn’t crossed my mind, and somehow I didn’t find the topic you linked to (nor did I remember it, I do seem to have read it at the time)! Using custom templates is less messy than adding a page override so I’ll go in that direction. Thanks @charles_piano!
