When I’m in the first part of a song and use the action “Previous Part”, I’m transported to the last part of previous song. (and the same happens from the last part forward). It would be better if I couldn’t go to previous song from the first part with this action. The program has actions “Previous song” and “Next Song”, which is sufficient. It’s possible to imagine a real-life situation where you need to go back to the last part of the previous song from the first part of a current song, But it’s not so easy. On the other hand, there are numerous instances where you can start a song again, such as during rehearsals when you started incorrectly or make an extra click when moving backwards.
That is essential to my workflow. I have a controller for Next Part/Previous Part which makes me not to have to access the computer.
For the Previous Part case, it makes sense to argue, but the action is like that (arrow up, by default) and when rehearsing it can be quite useful. Blocking it would break current behaviour.
And the “Next Song” controller doesn’t help here? Maybe it’s possible to select the transition mode as a setting in the project options? I use a MIDI controller to control the transitions between parts, forward and backward.
When I need to quickly return from the tenth part to the second part during a rehearsal, I have to press the button several times, and sometimes it takes me to the previous song.
It does, and one can use both.
