Unfortunately, Michael, there’s no setting you can change in Dorico to influence this. Please check the control panel/preference pane/web admin interface for your printer to make sure the option to print double-sided by default is disabled.
Try printing one page at a time. It just worked for me.
Same issue here, Canon TS2670. The OS print dialog is set to single-sided, there’s no access to the printer settings through the app to change that parameter, Dorico prints double-sided no matter what I do. No other app automatically prints double-sided. The pdf workaround is fine, I usually deliver pdfs anyway, this was an exceptional case, I’ll just remember to use Dorico direct printing only for double-sided.
My Brother printer only does duplex while in Droico 6.1. I have to save it as a PDF then print the PDF, to get single sided version. Hey Steinberg please fix.
I think it’s not Steinberg, it’s an old problem….
Try this: (worked fine with me)
On your pc keyboard cmd+space and type “terminal” and open Terminal.app
In terminal app type “cupsctl WebInterface=yes”
(no quotation marks)
Then open your web browser and type “http://localhost:631” and hit enter.
Click on the tab “Printers”, choose your printer, dropdown menu “Administration”.
Choose “set Default Options”. Under “General” 2-Sided Printing choose “Off (1-sided)”.
So, if I wanted to do 2 sided printing do I have to go back into terminal?
I think it is easier, although an additional step, to save it as a PDF, and print from that.
Tks thou
You only need to do this once, and then just print as usual.
It also continues to work after a Dorico update (at least for me).
Perhaps repeat this process with a new(Brother) printer.
