Printing for the first time

I have just finished my first Dorico project; a 16-part arrangement of Fidelio for Brass. However, when I go to Print mode, all I see is the Title and a big Tacet. This should not be so difficult!

Hi @rreifsnyder,
congratulation for your first Project in Dorico!
If you would like to post your Dorico Project, I am sure we find a very easy solution to your issue.

You can also post a cut-down version of it.

Here is how to do it (click to expand)

Also see here…:

…and the Manual:

Sounds like you have chosen to print an empty layout.

Exactly, if your Players are not assigned to a flow, there is nothing to display.
Go to Setup Mode, select a Player to the left and make sure the flow at the bottom is selected. That should be easy (and it is not difficult). It’s even fun to do these assignments. You can do them the other way round too: first select the flow and then click onto the player, that you want to be part of that flow.

I followed your instructions and somehow three lines of my score were deleted. Having to start over again. Your software is ridiculously complicated. Lost three weeks of work in the process.

I‘m not sure your music is lost, but we need to see: can you post a screenshot of your Setup Mode, with all panels open?

Also, Dorico does automatic backups:

What do you mean by “Lines”?
Do you mean players (left) or do you mean layouts (right)
Flows are at the bottom.
This is all in Setup Mode, as advised.
What exactly did you delete?
