Problem changing track color

I have an intermittent problem with changing track colors that is a minor annoyance. Sometimes I can’t change the color of a track unless I completely exit Cubase and restart the program. I haven’t been able to detect any real pattern as to when this happens, but it is fairly frequent. Has anyone else seen this behavior? Running Cubase 13,04.1 on Windows 11.

Thanks

Hi,

How do you change the track’s color, please?

I use the “Select color for selected Tracks or Events” tool in the Set Up toolbar. Most of the time it works as expected, just every once in a while it doesn’t.

Perhaps you have a Part or Event Selected in the Project Window, even off-screen. If so the Track’s color won’t change, but the Event/Part’s color will. Unselecting them will allow the Track’s color to be changed again. Exiting Cubase would certainly deselect things.

Interesting thought. I will double check next time it occurs and make sure that I don’t have a part or event selected! I don’t think I do, but user error on my part is always a likely possibility. :grinning:

I get this occasionally too.

I can’t set any colours using the drop down menu in the toolbar, or a key command.

I select a colour and nothing happens. No parts are selected. A restart fixes it.

Latest Cubase 13 and latest macOS.
