I can’t load a Cubase 5.0.1 project in Cubase LE 5.1.1.
That’s strange because it should work, right?
There’s no plug ins, or strange things going on.
Just WAV files in a project.
Anyone else having this problem?

Try the forum´s search, or look for the “project compatibility and interchangeability chart” on the steinberg site.
I don’t see why I can’t open a simple project made in Cubase 5, with only WAV files, in Cubase LE5.
I can open a project made with ProTools 8 HD in ProTools 8 LE.
I can open projects made in Samplitude 11 Pro in Samplitude Music Studio 16, without any problems.
Both interchangeable.
Are Cubase 5 and Cubase LE 5 so much different?
Are there so many differences between Cubase 5.0.1 and Cubase LE 5.1.1?
Or is it marketing policy?

Well, that´s how it is. I am a user just like you, so I can´t tell you why. If you don´t like it, you´re free to use something else…

I was just a little …carried away.
I use both Samplitude and ProTools as my main DAW, depending on the customer and the projects he/she brings.
I got my CB LE5 with a piece of hardware.
I thought it would easily be interchangeable with any other Cubase version, within the version range, but it seems that I had no luck.

Steinberg said they´d improve project interchangeability from V 6 on, we´ll see…
