Problem: Nuendo 3.2 crashed when trying to install Pro-Q 4

Happy new year to everyone here!

I have used Nuendo 3.2 on an old Toshiba Qosmio laptop for mastering for many years - with no problems. When Fabfilter Pro-Q 4 was released before Christmas I was interested in upgrading from my current Pro-Q 3, due to some really interesting new functionality in the new version. I downloaded it and tried to install it - but without any luck. I then copy and pasted the DLL from my internet computer to the Steinberg VST plugin folder on my music computer - and it showed up there with my other plugins. However, when I tried to open it in a project, from the mixer insert slots, it did not come up in the plugin list.

Shortly thereafter Nuendo crashed. The tracks and all the plugins dissappeared from the session and I got a message that the eLicenser could not be found.
I have since reconstructed the project and everything seems to be working again - except no action on the meters and no sound!

Any Nuendo veterans here who have had similar problems? Thank you in advance.
