Problem of temps

Hi

When I load a video in a Dorico project, the sound of the vidéo (a voice) is not synchronized anymore with the picture. Do you know how to resolve this problem?

Thank you very much.

There are videos properties where you can set a start offset (I always have to find the real beginning of the video…), maybe this could solve the problem?

No. The problem is not to synchronize my video with my Dorico project. It is the sound of my vidéo which is not synchronized anymore with the picture.

Could there be a conflict between the sample rate of your video and the sample rate set in Dorico or the sound card?

In the ‘Properties’ panel of my video, I set the frame rate to that of my video, 24 fps. I don’t know if there are any other settings that need to be adjusted. I should point out that the desynchronisation only occurs in Dorico. When I watch my video outside of Dorico, the synchronisation is perfect. It is compressed in H.264.

You can check out the sample rate of your video in a video player (I use QuickTime player, press cmd+i and see that there’s a codec and a sample rate for audio, no matter the format). Then, in Dorico, at the bottom of Edit menu, you can check out how your audio device is set up — here’s Dorico’s sample rate. If both sample rates do not match, there should be some synchronization problems.

Nevertheless, I’m quite stumped here. Because your previous messages lead me to understand that the audio track of your video is no longer synchronized with the picture, this is not really expected, unless I’m wrong about this.

Effectively, the problem is not between Dorico and my video, but between the image and sound of my video, which are no longer synchronised when I load it into Dorico.
I exported an audio file from my Dorico project to check how it synchronises with my video on my editing software. It is correctly synchronised with the image. So it is the soundtrack of my video that is lagging behind in Dorico.
