Hi, I bought the Behringer touch one and connected it following a video on the Behringer YouTube channel but it doesn’t work. The only thing working is the shuttle (the big wheel) but it changes the dynamic setting on the instruments instead of scroll along the project. What can I try to do ?
thanks
Hi and welcome to the forum,
Is Behringer set to the Mackie mode? Did you add Behringer device as a Mackie Control Device in Cubase?
Now, you can also use MIDI Remote Deivce.
Could you attach a screenshot from the Studio > Studio Setup > MIDI Ports Setup, please?
Hi,
These are Quick Controls, not Mackie Control. Click t + Add Remote Device button in the top left corner and add Mackie Control Device. Then set the MIDI Input and Output.
Also set the Quick Controls Input and Output to Not Connected, please.
Thank you very much , il try that and let you know
I am also just getting used to the x touch one. The Cubase set up works OK for transport, faders, pans and zoom - but I was wondering if it could be customised to control sends and fx etc. as well, maybe with the function buttons which don’t seem to do anything at the moment.
There doesn’t seem to be much documentation from Behringer so any advice would be gratefully received.
I use the function buttons to open the mixers. They can be set to use F keys in the settings - I’ll have a look shortly.
Thanks PK, I would be glad to know how to allocate the unused functon buttons.
I also wondered if the encoder knob or jog wheel can be allocated to other settings like fx sends, channel or plugin settings etc.

use the midi remote script and you can use it for sends etc.
Do a forum search for X touch midi remote.
The X Touch One is equipped with a pre-defined integration based on the Mackie Control. It should be noted that the Mackie-based controls are not modifiable in this mode. However, users are able to make some customisations to the set of function keys.
In order to make use of the surface layers, it is necessary to switch the X Touch One to MIDI mode. To enable the desired mode, simply press the stop button in conjunction with the knob and select the required mode using the knob. It will be necessary to create the MIDI surface. It bears noting that this may not afford the same experience as that offered by the built-in Mackie mode. For example, transitioning the display to operate in MIDI mode is a significant undertaking, necessitating the use of raw, byte-based codes. Additionally, developing an integration bridge to facilitate communication with Cubase is a crucial step. Despite these considerations, X Touch One is a capable piece of hardware. For inspiration on how to use it for plugins, refer to the linked post below.
It is significant to note that the Mackie Control mode allows for the simultaneous use of surface layers.
Hi All
I wonder if it is possible to do a few simple things in Cubase with the xtouch one without having to go through complicated midi-mapping.
I have used it with Cakewalk and Cubase and the Mackie control page in CW is far more intuitive and easy to use, for example to set the jog wheel and transport resolutions.
Also the default ‘replace’ button assigns the jog wheel to anything you touch in CW. I can’t see how to do either of those things quickly or easily in Cubase…unless QC learn mode has got something to do with it. The manual says:-
- In the Inspector for your track, open the Quick Controls section.
- Activate QC Learn Mode.
- Select the slot to which you want to assign a parameter.
- Move the control.
I tried this but nothing happened?
Even ignoring xtouch and trying to use the mouse wheel to adjust parameters in Cubase is inconsistent. For example, the input gain slider and EQ parameters will move with the mouse wheel (but won’t click back to zero)…but the mouse wheel doesn’t work at all on sends: it just rolls all the banks up and down. It would also be useful to open channel settings on a function button but couldn’t see that available in the drop down list.
Unless I am missing something it looks like even these couple of simple features are not available without fantastically elaborate midi-mapping…and then does xtouch have to be used in one of the midi modes?
Cakewalk doesn’t even have a dedicated mode in xtouch but seems to map to it straight out of the box in Mackie standard mode more usefully than Cubase does from its own dedicated mode.
Be glad of any advice/guidance on this –
