Problem with chord visibility in one bar of part layout only

I’m trying to figure out why the chord symbols show up in the guitar layout everywhere I want them, except ONE measure.

  • My jazz band layout shows that my guitar part has several chord symbol regions, and they are highlighted.
  • The chords show up in the score layout on the guitar staff, as they should.
  • The chords show up in the guitar part layout, as they should. EXCEPT in one bar.
  • The chord region definitely extends beyond that bar, but for some reason, chord symbols stop being visible.
    In the image below, the 2nd measure should show two chords.

If you extend the chord symbol region to the end of the second bar, do you see the chord symbols as expected?

If not, can you please attach the troublesome project here so we can take a look?

Another possibility is to enable signposts for chord symbols and look for green hidden chords!

Hi,
No matter how far I extend the chord region, no more chords show up in that particular region. Oddly, they do later in the song in other chord regions. So I am attaching the project, as you suggest. Thanks!

You’ve hidden the chord symbols in that layout. If you turn off View > Signposts > Hide Signpost, you can see this:

You need to select those signposts and disable the “Hidden” property in the properties panel.

But it’s only that one bar, not the entire region.

Yes, of course I can do as you say and see the chords that are supposed to be there. But they still aren’t visible when I print the part. Looking at your screenshot, you can see that the chords highlighted in green should be visible in the actual layout. They are inside a chord region, after all. But they are not, or they would be black as are the other chords in the region.

That’s because you have turned on the “Hidden” property for those chord symbols in that layout. Chord symbols that are explicitly hidden by the user are still hidden even inside a chord region. As I said before, you need to view the part, turn on the signposts, open the properties panel, and then select each signpost in turn and turn off the “Hidden” property for each one.

Okay. Figured out what you were referring to. Just those few chords were hidden, as you say. Fixed it now, thanks to you.
But, I have no idea how they became hidden in the first place, since I would not have done that intentionally.
