Hi. I am using Cubase 15 Elements and Steinberg Ixo 22. Recording audio is working fine but when I listen to it, it is a little bit behind. I can drag it to proper location but I think it is not something I should do. Using Presonus Audiobox it is already in the right place. Kind of stupid that two Steinberg devices dont work together like they are supposed to. I am thinking of upgrading to SSL Mk2, is that working fine with Cubase?
How did you test this? With a loopback test? Because that is usually the method to use if one suspects that the audio interface is a bit off.
Sometimes, audio interfaces don’t quite correctly report the full latency to the DAW. That would be the classic cause of audio that is persistently off. In such a case, one needs to determine the drift with a proper loopback test in samples and then go to “Studio Setup→Audio System” and insert that value into the “Record shift” field (don’t ask me when to use postitive or negative values, can never remember
).
Edit: Look here for more info:
Drums were already recorded with Soundcraft ui24 and we recorded bass. When listening bass with drums it was off a little bit. I did not test it, I will do that. With Soundcraft and Presonus there were no such problems.
