Recently bought a Behringer X18 digital mixer and using it with Cubase 13 on a Windows 11 PC. When I record and playback using both pieces of hardware and Cubase and the Behringer driver no problem. It works really well.
The problem is: At a later time when I simply want to mix the recording on my PC using just Cubase configured with either the Steinberg or default audio drivers the playback is sluggish and slow. The key of the song drops by 1/2 - 2 steps. Very strange. I’ve used multiple recording audio devices in the past with Cubase and never had this problem nor had to configure anything but the driver. I believe it is a config issue I don’t understand. I’ve tested recording with sample rates of 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz combined with a bit depth of 24 Bit and 32 floating point. None of that seems to matter. Same result. If I turn on the Behringer mixer that forces using their driver the playback through the mixer all sounds correct.
This is a new: PC with Win 11 - 64 Bit OS
12th Gen Intel(R) Core™ i9-12900K 3.20 GHz
32 Gig of memory
4 TB of disk
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Graphics card.
Any suggestions on what to test.
