Problems in score editor (solved whit great user support)

I want to report malfunctions that I found in the score editor.

I attach screenshots below

-If I set the Cm key (three flats) after entering the notes, all the A flat in bass clef remain with the flat symbols (SOLVED with help by @mducharme Thanks  )

-Many notes contain staccato dots and there is no way to remove them if not going to modify the note duration in the key editor (they were played short because there is the sustain pedal); (SOLVED with help by @PaulWalmsley , thanks  )

This is not a bug, it is a feature. The A flats you see here in the bass clef are cautionary/courtesy accidentals, used to clarify “yes, I really meant A flat and not A natural” since there was an A natural just before, in the right hand of the previous bar. It is standard practice to do exactly this in this type of situation. Sometimes such accidentals are parenthesized to show they are courtesy/cautionary, but in most cases they are not, due to the extra space used by the parentheses and the visual noise that the parentheses add without much benefit. All performers will know they are courtesy/cautionary without the parentheses (except for little kids or complete beginner adults). And so, it is the Dorico/Cubase default to show courtesy accidentals in cases where they are warranted, like this situation where they make perfect sense, and not to show them in parentheses because the performer will know why it is there even without the parentheses.

Thanks for the clarification :folded_hands:

You can turn off the auto staccato setting in Instrument Settings:

This one has also been responded to by Steinberg dev staff, as being fixed in an upcoming patch…

For this one, I would kindly suggest starting a fresh topic (and then deleting it here in your original post above).

For future reference, this is a better way forward - one problem per post/thread.!. It can get very confusing having several ‘issues’ bunched together with multiple responses back and forth, in one long post. Kind of like what’s happening now…

And note:- the ‘solution’ tick-box for the whole thread applies to only ONE of your reported concerns… Not too helpful for other readers… Just saying.
