Hi! I have the lexicon alpha desktop recording studio with cubase LE5 but I can not install cubase with the CD, cause my computer doesn’t have any cd player. I have the cubase serial number. Are there any options to download cubase LE5 and the activate it with the serial number?
Hi @lauramanzanilla, and welcome to the Steinberg forums.
Cubase LE 5 is no longer available for download, as far as I’m aware.
Do you have an eLicencer dongle?
If you do, and the serial number has never been used/activated, try this :
Make sure to install the Steinberg eLicenser Control Centre, sign in, and activate the license to the eLicencer dongle.
Hopefully, this should update you to the latest version of Cubase LE (if the Grace Period applies).
This way you can download it via the Steinberg Download Assistant and it should show up in your Steinberg account.
If you do not have an eLicencer dongle, see if you can activate it using the Soft-eLicence approach via the eLicencer Control Centre. I’m not familiar with this way of activating as I’ve always used the Dongle.
Good luck.
Hi and welcome to the forum,
The Grace Period has never worked automatically for the LE and AI editions, as far as I know.
The first step is to have the license registered in your MySteinberg account. If this is not the case, do so as mentioned above.
Once you have it registered, ask for the free update to the latest Cubase LE 13 (and most important to the new Steinberg Licensing System) in this thread.
By aware, Cubase 13 is 64-bit only (not as Cubase 5, which was both 64- and 32-bit). So I hope, you have 64-bit system.
