Problems with getting sound out of audio interface

When I open the the hub on vst live pro 2 I select my audio interface and the corresponding outputs
When I then create an audio track select the input 1 of the audio interface for guitar then route it to interface stereo out ,when I then select the speaker icon to monitor the track input I just get very loud noise coming from the monitor speakers.
I don’t understand what the problem is ,I use cubase 13 also and set the audio interface up without any issues, can anyone point out what the problem may be.

I don’t route live audio through vst live, but I will try it later on and let you know what happens.

What build of vst live are you on?

If that were common behaviour, we’d certainly have heard that from other users, or could reproduce it with various interfaces we test - but we can not.

So it would be good to learn about your system and interface specifics, and maybe you can try and exclude any external obstacles.

It’s a presonus audiobox interface ,it’s connected via usb there is nothing unusual about it I use it with Cubase 13 and I use it live with presonus studio one 5 professional with no issues.
I don’t get what’s causing the issue, connecting an audio interface with my daw is straight forward and works with no problem.
I connect the interface in the vst live hub just as you would in the daw then add the connections but then there is just noise and no signal from the input on the interface .
Is there anything different about the procedure of connecting the interface to vst live 2 as opposed to the way you would set it up with cubase 13 ?

Have you checked Devices / Connections/ Audio?

Not really.
so,

  • new project
  • Devices/Connections/Audio, set input and output to physical port
  • add audio track
  • in inspector, set input
  • press monitor item

…and you already get noise?

It’s not that we don’t beleive you, it’s just that such issue has not been reported yet, so we need to find the difference to every other setup.

Yes that’s exactly what’s happening, I’ve updated to the latest build , windows 11 asus rog flow z13 laptop. I have no issues using the other daws so I’m a bit stumped.

Could you try with the asus’ built-in audio (Asio4all, or Generic ASIO Driver), same result?
