Problems With Multi-Monitor Window Shortcuts and Steinberg CMC-PD in Cubase 15

In Cubase 14, the Windows shortcut keys (Shift + Win + →) and (Shift + Win + ←) worked correctly for moving windows between multiple monitors, but in Cubase 15 their behavior has become problematic.
The same issue also occurs with the (Win + ↑) shortcut.

Additionally, my Steinberg CMC-PD no longer responds in Cubase 15.
All of these functions work normally in Cubase 14 with the exact same setup.

Of course, Cubase works without any issues when using the PC keyboard shortcuts.

Hi,

Could you be more specific, please?

First, my Steinberg CMC-PD no longer responds at all in Cubase 15.
However, it works perfectly in Cubase 14 with the exact same system.

Regarding the monitors, I am using three monitors as shown.
When I try to move the Cubase window across these three monitors using (Shift + Win + →) or (Shift + Win + ←), the window sometimes stops midway (see the third image) or only the top part remains visible.
This behavior does not occur in other applications, where the shortcuts work without any issues.

The Steinberg CC121 works perfectly in both Cubase 14 and 15.
Also, the MIDI Remote functions without any issues.

Hi,

I’m wondering, why there is CMC-PD 2 port. Is there any other CMC-PD port available?

I have both a CMC-PD1 and a CMC-PD2, but in Cubase 14 the CMC-PD1 doesn’t work while the CMC-PD2 does.
In Cubase 15, neither of them works.
This has been the same ever since I purchased the CMC-PD units, not only in Cubase 14.

I’m finding multi monitor handling when switching is a complete mess. I have a two screen setup but also a kdm for a general purpose PC that only uses one of the monitors, so when I switch the kvm to that pc the DAW PC has to move everything on to my secondary monitor and then back when I kvm again. No issues in 14 and with other programnes but Cubase 15 either opens at wrong size and has to be minimised/maximised to get it back to full screen or it sometimes opens at massive size but only showing on one monitor with the part that should be on the other monitor just not there and no way to get to the borders to resize it. Selecting a preset window layout seems to be the only way out of this.

Hi,

What happens, if you plug only one CMC-PD device, please?

My previous explanation may have been unclear. I have both the CMC-PD1 and CMC-PD2 connected, but for some reason the CMC-PD1 does not work.
I could have simply used the CMC-PD2 only, but I left the CMC-PD1 connected and unused.
Nothing is connected to the CMC-PD1.
Even if I use only the CMC-PD2, there is no problem, but the CMC-PD1 does not work even when it is the only one connected.
I still don’t understand why it only works with the CMC-PD2 and not the CMC-PD1.

My understanding is that of the CMC units, only the CMC-FD supports multiple instances and that the PD doesn’t.

That’s using the Steinberg plug and play anyway, maybe it’s possible if you switched that off and used MIDI remote, but that’s a big if.

You need to get this fixed ASAP, I almost put a hammer through my screens last night the multi monitor handling is abysmal, if you get caught in the trap of win + shift + > then you end up with an oversized display spread across all monitors and no way to get out of it other than ctrl alt delete - kill and losing all your work, we upgraded as a commercial studio and the upgrade is cosing us money in wasted time plus it make us look like amateurs not knowing how to use a piece of software, this should not have made it to release with a ‘pro’ badge on the tin, i’ve been using steinberg products since 1991 and this is the first bug that is making me think of ditching cubase, how do we get a refund on the 14-15 pro upgrade?

Hi,

CMC-PD has not been supported for some years already.

Mr. Martin Jirsak,
The CMC-PD is currently working without any issues.
It does appear, however, that the screen-related fix mentioned by raidfire has not yet been implemented.
