Problems with playing MIDI both on Instrument editor and piano roll

I am attempting to add a soundtrack to a video. I’ve set up my project with the video and I’m adding some instruments.

The **Marcato Celli **are from the Spitfire Abbey Road Two and they are fine. If I open the piano roll and click on a MIDI event it sounds exactly correct and it plays back as expected.

When I added the Marcato Bass, (also from Abbey Road Two), I copied and pasted the MIDI track from the Marcato Celli (as you can see in the first screenshot, they show the same events).

However, if I open Marcato Bass in the piano roll and click on the note, as above, there is no sound. Also, if I edit the two instruments and show the keyboard, the Marcato Celli all sound correct, but none of the bass sound at all. Similarly, if I play everything back the other instruments are there, but not the Marcato Bass. I’ve looked at all the properties of the two tracks and I can’t see any discrepancies (correct inputs, outputs etc.). Since I just added the instruments as normal, with no different properties during the track creation, I can’t see what I’ve done wrong. I’ve also tried playing along in record mode but no MIDI events are captured (not surprisingly)

Anyone any thoughts on what else I might check?

Hi,

Double-check, if the given MIDI Note isn’t out of the Instrument range.

Also, double-check the “expression” setting. Some of the libraries are using MIDI CC1/7/11 as an expression, which is set to 0 by default, which means no sound is audible. Does the given library need this kind of MIDI CC?

Thanks Martin

I changed the instrument from bass to one with the full range and it still doesn’t work. I’ve also checked the expression settings as you suggested and they are identical for both tracks (the one that works and the one that doesn’t!)

Hi,

Can you see on the Instrument UI, it receives the MIDI data?
