Problems with recording in Elements

We have two recording problems using Elements

Firstly - the keyrig49 midi keyboard is showing an input signal as normal but nothing is being recorded.

Secondly - on a different PC when one note is sounded and recorded, this single note is being repeated several times on the finished recording. I’ve solved this temporarily by restarting Cubase but the problem keeps coming back.

Can anyone shed any light on either of these problems?

Any help and advice gratefully received.

That’s solved both problems and probably solved several other problems that I didn’t even know about.
