ProgramChange and Preload

Good morning,
unfortunately it seems that no midi (virtual midi) signals are being transmitted at all now? Regards, Tobias

Hi @Tobias_Verburg,

It works fine. Let me describe my workflow :

  1. Start VL, New Project, Select STACKS
  2. Add a Stack and load TH-U to Insert Slot 1
  3. Open TH-U and TH-U Rock, Select First Preset “Heavy Blues”
3.1 Make sure that TH-I MIDI Settings are correct (“Program Changes recall presets …”)
  4. Add an MIDI Input Port to TH-U. Select “VM In 3”

Screenshot 2023-12-09 at 11.37.45

  1. Select TRACKS
  2. Add a MIDI Track
  3. Add a MIDI Clip from 2.1 to 3.1
  4. Move Cursor to 2.2
  5. Open MIDI List Editor (Menu / Edit / MIDI List Editor…)
  6. Add an Program Change event with “+” and change Data1 to 6
  7. Move Cursor to 2.4, add an Program Change event with “+” and change Data1 to 2

  1. For the MIDI Track select “VM Out 3” as an Output Port

  1. Start Transport

The Presets will now change from 1 to 6 to 2.

Did I miss something? It does not work for you?
Michael.

Edit ; I am using TH-U Version 1.4.22

Hi Michael,

thank you again for your effort and the description. I tested it again and followed your instructions exactly.

VM IN 3 only has AllNotesOff commands at the end of the midi track. Nothing arrives at VM IN 1? Even a restart of the program or the computer does not change anything.

I also noticed that no CPU status is displayed. Regardless of how many plug-ins I load.

Cycle mode doesn’t seem to work properly either. It shows me diffuse errors. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.

I am using am MacBook Pro M2 Max.

Best regards, Tobias

same TH-U Version

… let’s get this one sorted first. A connection needs to have the “same” virtual cable. In my case I have chosen “VM In 3” for the TH-U MIDI Input. Then in TRACKS, in the MIDI Track I have to select “VM Out 3” to have the “same” virtual cable. Please try to use the same cable in your connection.

… in my example with a clip from 2.1 - 3.1 I can cycle it and TH-U will accept. No Problems.

… the it works? Confused now?

Have you tried it with a fresh project? Try my description. Does it work? If not, please create an archive, zip it and give it to me.

/Michael.

Sorry,

it seems my computer had a hiccup… Now I started again and rebuilt the project. Looks like everything is working out now  Thank you very much!

Tobias

… excellent news!
