Using the export menu (top right in Dorico), I saved my current project to a folder in iCloud. Later, I went into the hub and selected, “iCloud Drive” and nothing showed up. This is where a Dorico system folder on iCloud would make a lot of sense.
For example, other apps, such as: Sibelius, Vectornator, Numbers, etc., all create an iCloud folder with their icon and file type in the folder’s system info. Would be nice if Dorico would create and use its own system folder on iCloud. This could be done the first time a user saved a project to iCloud from within Dorico. Storing all Dorico files (projects) in one central location on iCloud, identified as Dorico, would make Syncing simple, whenever a file (project) was changed, regardless of what device was used. Maybe a Dorico system folder for files created/modified on the computer app and a Dorico for iPad system folder for Dorico projects created on mobile devices.
Even after using the Import option in the Hub, opening the project in iCloud and making changes to it, it still never shows up in the Hub when I select iCloud Drive. What is the point of having iCloud Drive show up in the Hub if Dorico never remembers any files you work with in iCloud? What am I missing?
Dorico does create its own folder inside iCloud Drive, in common with all applications that use iCloud Drive for document storage. If you run the Files app on your iPad and choose iCloud Drive in the sidebar, you should see Dorico as a folder in the main listing, with the Dorico app icon superimposed on the folder icon.
If you don’t see this folder, and you have a Mac, then try running Dorico on your Mac, create a new project and save it. In the Save dialog, choose iCloud Drive from the list of locations. You should see a Dorico folder listed there. Save your project in there. That should also ensure that the Dorico folder shows up in the iCloud Drive location in the Finder on your Mac.
Hi, Daniel. I checked and my iPad does not show a Dorico system folder in iCloud. Because there wasn’t one, I created a regular Dorico folder in the “root” of iCloud in hopes Dorico would see it, but it doesn’t.
Since my old 17” MacBook Pro broke, I haven’t had a Mac. Do you know of anyway I can create a Dorico system folder in iCloud without a Mac?
Thanks for taking time to reply. I know you’ve been busy @ MOLA. Great comments on the stage, by the way.

You can always access your iCloud stuff on icloud.com.
There’s also a icloud for windows app. How well it works, I don’t know.
Do you have set Preferences>General>Saving Project>Default project location to “iCloud Drive”?
If yes, what happens if you create a new project and close it again. Does it show up in the Hub under iCloud Drive?
@Nukkut Set Preferences>General>Saving Project>Default project location to “iCloud Drive” did indeed work! Now I have a Dorico system folder in iCloud showing up in the iPad Files app. I should have asked for help sooner. This problem has really been bugging me for awhile.
Thank you ever so much, Nukkut! I like to keep all my work on iCloud.
I was going into the Files app each time, to open projects I had copied there in the Files app. Why I never thought to go look in Preferences? Too busy learning the complex features and overlooked a basic feature, I guess. TYVM again, @Nukkut !
I discovered that my iCloud is not syncing with iCloud at all, it was not a Dorico-specific problem. (Dorico on iPad makes iCloud folder that Dorico Mac can´t see, and Dorico on Mac makes no iCloud folder the iPad can see).
Hi,
I’m a bit in late as I purchased Dorico only recently but even if I see the Dorico folder in iCloud I don’t see iPad projects in there although I set it as default saving location…
Any idea?
Thanx,
Art
In the Hub in Dorico for iPad, you can choose between showing your recent projects, projects saved On my iPad (which means that they’re actually stashed away inside the private documents folder belonging to the app itself) and iCloud Drive (which shows the projects located inside the Dorico folder in iCloud Drive). Where do your projects show up?
Hi Daniel,
sorry, I missed your answer…
I only see my projects on myipad (even if I can see a Dorico folder on iCloud drive both in my ipad and my MacBook)
