I’ve been using Cubase 5 for many years (yeah I know, I’m poor) and it’s suddenly stopped saving projects properly.
Everything saves aside from the main out (“Stereo Out”) settings; the channel strip, EQ nor the level.
EDIT TO ADD: Also track markers aren’t saving.
It also appears to no longer have panning on the main out channel (not that I tend to use that but it’s a thing)
Please can you offer a solution, this issue has just randomly presented without me making any changes to my recollection.
Thank you.
Hi and welcome to the forum,
You can try to reinstall Cubase, or you can try to (backup and) trash Cubase preferences folder (when Cubase is not running), to get the factory settings.
Cubase Preferences folders are:
Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/Cubase X
Win: %appData% \Steinberg\Cubase X _64
Where the X is the Cubase version (for example 15).

Thank you.
I may just bite the bullet and upgrade since the current version is TEN more than the one I’m using so should have fewer issues.
Hi,
Cubase 5 was released in January 2009, which is 17 years ago. I think it’s time.
As always, first, I would recommend that you download Cubase 15 Trial and test it on your system.

Also, if you want/need to save money, Steinberg once in a while do sales where update can be had for 40% off (usually in the summer).
I would definitely try trashing the preferences folder as Martin described first (make a copy first of course). Doesn’t hurt to try…
