Prologue Synth VST3 File Download?

Hello,

Old Cubase 8/9/10 Elements MacOS user here. I upgraded to Cubase Pro 13 and was unpleasantly surprised by the absence of Prologue. After looking up all of the related posts on the Cubase forum, it seems like the only way to retrieve the VST might be to re-install the old Cubase, because I cannot find the old vst3 profile and the TERA engine did not seem to bring back Prologue. Since I have a Mac, I also cannot use Yamaha’s exe file to download Prologue again.

I’d really like to have Prologue again because without it, the great 808s in half of my best beats are gone.

Does anyone have the vst3 files for Prologue (including SynthEngine.vst3)? Any help would be appreciated.

As far as I remember, Prologue isn’t a VST3 plugin. It was a VST2, and that’s the reason it is not supported anymore.

@st10ss,
Actually, Prologue in its latest version (the one bundled with Cubase 11), was a VST 3.5.2 instrument. And indeed, the SynthEngine.vst3 file is involved.

@Skinny_Giant,
The problem we have here, is that there are surely different versions of the SynthEngine.vst3 file. So, I think it’s probably safer, on your end, to reinstall Cubase 10 Elements (your most recent version, I think) at least temporarily, and just copy it to the following path (I guess it’s the same source one, using Cubase 10) :

C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Cubase 13\VST3

Relaunch Cubase, create an instrument track, and you should have it at disposal in the Steinberg > Synth subcategory.
