Proofreading- lowest strings of the modern concert harp

Another subtle proofreading glitch concerns the modern concert harp. The issue flagged in the image appears at the lowest C, which is not controlled by a pedal.

Yes, the two lowest strings of the concert harp, C & D, should not be included in any consideration of how the harp’s pedals are set. These two strings are tuned manually.

Of course, D as well — thanks for clarifying that.

At the moment, the instrument range section of Dorico’s proofreading feature is essentially unusable from the perspective of professional performers. The system floods the user with warnings about “uncomfortable pitches,” especially for brass instruments. The instrument list should also distinguish between different types of trombones (tenor with F-attachment, bass with F + G♭ valves), as well as include variants such as the B-foot flute, among others.

Some proofreading features, on the other hand, are genuinely excellent (dynamics, clefs, etc.). Fortunately, range checks can be turned off.
