Quantize within time selection

Hi, new user to cubase after using reaper for many years.
is there a way to quantize within a time selection? In reaper i could make a time selection and when i clicked quantize it would move the stretch markers (warp markers) only within the time selection.

I would like to do this so i can do a section i know only has say 8th notes then change the time selection to a part with 16th notes change the grid then quantize.

at the moment when i click quantize the whole song gets quantized.

this is whilst editing drums.

any help would be appreciated.

It depends of the audio content, but I would, as a first approach, on audio material :

  • make a range selection
  • [right-click] > Quantize on the range defined : only the content in it is processed.

After this, there are more sophisticated tools that could also help you to get the job done, especially the Time warp one, hitpoints, etc. Try the sample editor for the use of these.
