Here’s a tiny demo.
repeat in parts demo.dorico (396.5 KB)
Thanks Janus. Apologies for a senior moment on my part - this topic is about bar repeats - I was trying to do a standard repeat section (with repeat bar lines) in the part.
In the immortal words of Homer Simpson, “D’oh!”
I suppose this would require what I called rhythmic compression in that other thread……
A feature that I’d love to see is an option to automatically display a one bar repeat as its contents when it’s the first bar in its system. That would suit my needs perfectly, and fits how drum parts are often printed (with the repeat marks ending up on different places in score / parts).
Is this possible yet? If it’s a setting, I’m missing it. If it’s not a setting, I sure would love it to be.
It is not a setting (yet).
Thanks!
Rest assured that the developers have read Elaine* Gould’s book cover to cover, backwards and upside down, and that they’re aware many users (myself included) would welcome this functionality. But the same can be said about a thousand other feature requests and ultimately, someone needs to take the time to code it up.
Great request… I am about to make an extra drummer part for this very reason.
The lack of this feature has been the main driver for the need to create and maintain separate Dorico files. The whole player duplication workaround, on account of there being no function to duplicate player with their music, is incomplete at best and problematic (ex., duplicating a violin section with multiple regions of divisi).
I really could use this simple feature and would be the deciding factor in purchasing a major version upgrade.
It would be nice to have, but it’s only a simple feature if someone else has to implement it. No doubt this will someday appear.
Any progress on this feature? Are there any plans to develop it?
