Question about PLAY-Button in parts

Hi everyone at VST-Live-Forum,

I have a question about PARTs. I use VST-Live in live-environments, on stage, like a switching-console for my Live-soundsetups (Hardwareinstruments and VST-Instruments) on a Macbook-pro.

As a liveplayer I actually do not need the playbutton which can be seen in each first PART.

Sometimes I get into a small problem - which comes along with the concept behind VST-Live (I know that…).
I switch to another song and accidentally click on the play button in the first Part. As I am a liveplayer, there isn’t anything to play in my PARTs (so there is no “problem” that could be heard…) but as long as I do not stop the play-”accident”, it’s not possible to switch to another song. Normally I press the stop-button, everything’s fine and I can go on.

The idea that I searched for but did not find yet:
Is there a way to customize the VST-Live-user-interface in a way that the playbutton on PART-1 could disappear or be faded out?

If not it should be a question of personal routines but maybe there is such a functionality. In that case I would be happy to know about it.

Best regards

Axel

Hello @Herr.Meyer ,

There is no customization that I know of, but what I can offer is a workaround:

Set your start stop markers 1 bar away from each other (or even closer) in tracks and in song action, set Stop at song end marker.

Even if you accidentally click play it will stop very quickly.

USE Keyboard LEFT / RIGHT instead if you feel like hitting PART, (but be absolutely honest, I never got such a trouble with mouse-navigation)

Thanks to both of you for answering!

Just as I wrote - it’s a small problem and you are right - it does not happen very often and normally it happens while I am scratching on the Macbook’s touchpad.
At the moment I do not use a mouse on stage - maybe I should…

Best regards

Just use LEFT / RIGHR
You will be a happy person
