I’m wondering about MIDI control for plugins. If some specific plugin doesn’t have the circle icon in the header, that means that you just can’t control it, doesn’t it?

IIRR, all VST-3 plugins should be controllable, but not VST-2 plugins.

So…for a VST3 (confirmed), why would that circle icon be missing?

Indeed, the VST-3 plugin must support a feature called “IParameterFinder” and if this is not supported, there is no button in the WaveLab caption bar.
