Question: Output Assignment

I assigned an Audio-Output under "Devices - Connections - Audio Output (see Screenshot)

But why is this output not available in the Track-Inspector not available?
What else do I need to set so that this output appears here?

Under Connections tab, they are “Proxyes”, that givesthe flexibility to VL to “remember different scenarios”.

MIXER Audio OUTs needed to be created in MIXER then the MIXOUT needs to be routed to proxy out (you set under Connections).

Hi @fkalmus , you save me once again.
I try to rebuild my original project in 2.0.30 from ground up while importing the saved songs from the original project, so that I can use the full power of the VST Viewer Window (PDF-Support).

One more Question. Some (original) Songs show a “Stack 1” Mixer-Channel - for what is it good? Do I need it?

Stack Channel

Stack1 mixer ch is mix ch of Stack1 :sunglasses:

Good day,
I am totally new to VST Live, having been using Studio One 5. The output management in VST Live is quite not easy to understand and follow. I also don’t see where it is adequately being covered in the manual. My challenge is (1) be able to route output from Ezdrummer to various channels, (2) be able to have independent channels that I can route to various outputs (so how do were create those outputs?). Currently I am using my laptop’s sound card (Lenovo i7) and will soon be using Presonus USB 2 channel and 8 channel (VSL 1818) sound cards,.

Please assist, or even provide a manual. Youtube videos are not adequate for this area.

Where did you place the instrument, in a Layer, or in a Track?
In either case, you should find the Instruments’ Channel in the Mixer. To see Track Channels, click “e” on the Song Channel (the one with the name of the Song).
At the top of each Channel, you select its destination. You can also add Sends to more destinations.
Destinations are usually Group Channels, or Output Channels.
To address more physical outputs, first create them in the “Devices/Connections” panel. Give it a useful name such as “IEM Git” and assign a physical output from the list. Then, back in the Mixer, create an Output Channel (click “Out” item, also at the top of the Mixer) and route (top of channel) its output to the hardware port you just created.

Click the “Group” icon at the top of the Mixer to create a Group Channel (“Aux”, for reverb, submix etc). Don’t forget to route the new Group Channel to where you want it to go.

Thank you so much for your prompt response. i will get back if need be.

Hi,

Thank you. Are there some detailed tutorials/videos one can use? I am now stuck with creating patches/layers. I successfully created parts to a song, but I cannot effectively create layers such that I can change instruments between parts. My efforts to do this end in vain - layers not changing appropriately.

When you select a Part, the Parts’ Layers become active. Each Part has its own Layers, so you would set those up as you want.
