Since installing Cubase 15 Pro I have had so much trouble.
Before I wipe my Mac Max M3 Tahoe 26 and go back Sequoia I would like to know if I am alone in these issues?
So on opening Cubase seems to be freezing, the beachball cursor appears and just sits there. All other apps work fine. If I leave it in this state and open the activity centre I can see it shows Cubase not responding and my controllers disconnect. Sometimes leaving it like this eventually loads the project as the activity centre shows Cubase running again. So I wonder if I should wipe Mac and go back to previous OS.
Something that also seems to have started to happen is when it does load (before it crashes) it tries to load VST’s from the default drive rather than the external drive I use.
As soon as I point it to the external drive it finds them all.
However another anomaly is Halion 7 does not show the instrument icons always. As in Eagle, Raven, Hot Brass Etc.
Since installing 15 I have not been able to even start a new project.
I have a time machine back up running but seems this was somehow disabled or just did not run for months before I installed Cubase 15.
I am wondering if its possible that my Kensington hub is occasionally failing (dropping USB connections, its never done it before) both time machine drive and sound library drive are directly connected to this
Perhaps the hub is not able to provide enough power for all the bits I have connected?
I am going to have to raise this with support as its unusable now.
any thoughts welcome
PS I went to update my profile to add my new system but was that option gone?
