i set up quick control on the dynamics plugin then instead of reopening another channel and reassigning all the parameters i just duplicated the channel, the duplicate midi controls were still controlling the original channel,
is there a work around ?

I think it only works the way you are expecting, if you enable Preferences>Project & Mixer>“Sync Project and Mixer Selection”.
