Normally, Quick Controls follow the midi channel defined for the track in the inspector.
However, QC will not follow the midi channels 2-16 defined in the Expression Maps for key switching. So if you, for instance, have key switches in Expression Maps that go to different patches in a multi instrument set up as a rack instrument… while your keyboard and hardware controllers will follow the midi channels defined for each key switch, the Quick Controls will only stay on the channel defined for the track in the inspector.
This is unexpected/wrong behavior. It cripples using QC to easily set up hardware controllers to control various libraries easier that need key switches across midi channels. When you point to a different midi channel, ALL controls available should then be able to control that channel.
Hope this can be fixed. Can you tell me if QC follows Expression Map midi channels in Cubase 9?
