Quick feature request: More support for strings

I’m impressed with the comprehensive knowledge of the instrument definition library, but a few things would be helpful:

  1. Brackets on bowings. This notation is used to show an optional bow change mid-slur.
  2. Extension and shift symbol support for fingerings: currently fingerings only support numbers, but extensions (x) and shift (-) notations are unsupported.
  3. More engraving support for built-in shift notation: There are not many ways to move these around or change their size, but many editions use different-looking lines that point from one fingering to the next.
  4. Special playing techniques: I am aware you can add these, but I find it odd that there are key clicks for winds but no chop/slap notations for strings.

Most of these notations have workarounds which involve loose lines and symbols, but fixed settings would be handy.

For chop notation, we added this to SMuFL only relatively recently (see here), and we definitely should have default playing techniques for those at some point.

Your other points have been requested before and are on our backlog for future implementation.
