QC is nice quick controller, in analogy add Quick Keyboards that follows the selected track with a midi keyboard for musical data.

Just a keyboard that follows your selection instead of routing.
Midi, alpha, on-screen, hardware? I don’t suppose you mean midi thru- since that already can follow the selected track.

Two ways. Record enable, or monitor on midi tracks.

I still dont see how you can parallel this with QC. You still need to put in routes and will apply your midi for all channels. The idea is to have like QC, you define a keyboard (midi port) and that is automatic routed to your selected tracks and only the selected tracks and are merged with the routed midi.
