Quick way to duplicate just that audio to new track

hey guys is there a way to just duplicate a cut of an audio to a new track? I usually find myself duplicating the track (Shift + D) and then removing all the other audio i dont need in that track and was wondering if theres a quick way to do this. below is a screenshot. 1st screen shot shows the cut of audio that I want to do and 2nd screenshot shows the end result im after.

Thanks

On Windows you would ALT + drag the part to an empty area of the project and the track will be duplicated with just part or parts you’d dragged.
What’s the MacOS equivalent of the ALT key? Command? Option?

but what if theres heaps of tracks next to eachother and you have to scroll wayyyy down to find an empty track and then drag it down (its option for mac).

Life can be a bitch?

There should be a macro that copies the track without data. If you do this first then you can Alt+drag the event onto the newly created track.

Sure, but for this to work you must have the old track and the event(s) selected.
