In PT, I would just get a rough mix up (with no automation) and then use touch or whatever to slowly start automating things. In CB it seems it won’t let you do this unless you put an automation point a the end of each track, THEN you can start moving faders to automate. Is there a fast way to do this one a large session for all tracks? Thanks, I’m still learning here.
yes there are many ways to get automation going in Cubase depending on how you like to work.
to put all channels in “write” W or “read” R automation there is a button on the top of mix console and project windows.
so if you start moving the faders it will automate if the W is engaged. It will make automation points as you go along.
I don’t know how Pro Tools work anymore as I ditched long time ago, is that what you are looking to do?
if you are looking to explore, try to press F6 and check out the automation panel too.
