So Roland has a new feature called “Rain Link” which will be implemented on the RD-2000. It has a higher resolution than MIDI. I’m wondering how this can be sequenced in a DAW? MIDI has a velocity range of 0-128, much lower than the 24 bit Rain Link. Is it time to rethink MIDI? Also Yamaha and Roland are in direct competition. Is there any chance for a universal new standard?
