I have a problem with staves seamingly random changing clef, for instans if jumping from a drum part/track to the bass track above suddenly makes the intrument setting change.
To correct the problem I have to go to the Instrument settings and “start over” with the correct instrument type once again to make the part appear correctly. In this case one again chose bass as instrument type.
Any suggestion on how to solve the issus would be most apprechiated.
As noted this appears seamingly random. I will be on the look for if I can find any patterns on what I do when the instrument change appear.
Unfortunately I have a lot of other “bug like” behaviors as well. Wondering if it could be part of “somthing bigger” that affects both this and other issues as well (for instance that I can not extend crec < and dim > signs nor the repeat ending object (1. and 2. with “overhead brackets”). (I’m sorry I don’t know the correct English terms. )
I’ll keep you updated asap when I know more about the issue!
Did you have a Choir (reduction) instrument assigned to another track before that unexpected change?
We’ve previously come across a case where two tracks had their assigned instruments swapped, but haven’t been able to see that again since. Closing and reopening would have resolved that situation.
Just trying to see if this problem follows a similar problem, which may help narrow it down a bit.
Yes. The “top track” is Choir (reduction).
The following tracks are cornet 1 (Bb), cornet 2 (Bb), baritone (Bb in g-clef), bass (Bb, in g-clef) and percussion (percussion clef).
The tracks does not swop instruments, it is only (in this example) the baritone track that changes to Choir (reduction).
(I have had the issue with the bass suddenly transforming into percussion as well.)
New version of the issue today. - Same issue. Different instruments included (this time a clarinet “automatically” turns into a sketch without changing the “instrument type” (wich originally is sat to, and should continue to be, a clarinet).
That’s certainly unexpected. Would you be able to send the Cubase project file itself? Can you also have a look in %appdata%\Steinberg\ScoringEngine, and send (via private message) the log files you can find in there? If you can also remember the time when you’ve noticed the unintended instrument type swap, we can try to see what happened under the hood.
I am seeing this issue regularly but more recently since I updated to 15.0.20 and 15.0.21.
A few times a day the Instrument Type/Clef suddenly changes.
When it happens the change is permanent. When I close and re-open the score window or the project itself, the incorrect instrument type is still selected.
A clue is that the layout dialog box shows the correct Instrument Type, but when you open the dialog box the current selected one is different.
Note that it should be Baritone and shows that here but it is actually using Sketch->Treble Staff.
@StefanFuhrmann and @PaulWalmsley Sorry for the amount of time since my last posting.
The issue has not changed. If of interest I have now recorded some simple videos of the issue. Unfortunately they are from the last version of the program.
Please contact me via e-mail if of interest of the video files.
