So I’m considering a full drive format and re-installation of Windows 11. It’s something I’ve needed to do for a while to clear out all the chuff and get my Surface Pro 7 back to a useable state. My question is, do I de-activate my Dorico license first, or does it matter? I’m guessing the former, but I fear installation and activation issues might result.
I don’t have a definitive answer, but you’re allowed to have Dorico on up to 3 machines. So, if you do need to reactivate it, you can do so as a new instance and then deactivate the old. (Assuming you don’t have it activated on 2 other machines, of course.)

Open the Steinberg Activation Manager (I know, such a weird name for a program?!!) which you should already have installed and deactivate Dorico, quick and painless. You will see any other Steinberg programs you might have there also.

Absolutely: I had to do this just to change my SSD with a bigger one. You can free some installation with MySteinberg as well, but for a change on the same machine this is the most straightforward procedure.
