Real-time peaks

Bought Cubase 9.5 Pro and still have some real-time peak.

Incredible that Steinberg didn’t solve the problem for later version. It’s a problem which lasts already 10 years.

Shame on you. I still regret to habe bough Cubase. One time and last time!

Well why did you buy a version of Cubase that’s like 6 years old?

Yes, I bought it in 2017 I think, but when I see some posts of Cubase 12, the problem still exists in the last version.

Some posts in 2014 already mentionned the problem of real-time peaks…

You are vastly generalizing here. To my knowledge, most Cubase users do not have any issues with random ASIO spikes. Most often they seem to occur on systems that are not fully optimized to run a daw, faulty drivers, incompatible hardware, etc.

People don’t tend to post on the forums when everything works smoothly.

I’m curious why you decided to open an account here only to bash on a piece of software you haven’t even used.

Ah sorry I thought you meant you just recently bought it secondhand or something

That’s not how this works Christophe. Like Mlindeb wrote a lot of us have zero problems with realtime peaks, and a lot of the problems have to do with poorly optimized, incompatible or broken hardware or software.

Just imagine all possible combinations of motherboards, CPUs, memory, drives, DAW versions, 3rd party plug-ins and their versions, OS versions… I mean, just take 3 motherboards and 3 different CPUs and you have 9 combinations. Add 3 memory brands… memory speed… # of sticks… ranks… latency… Now what?

That’s not how this works? I guess you work for Steinberg.

And you are right. That’s not how this works!!

When Steinberg sells a product to a client. It has to work fine! I have to receive the product I paid for!!

And your answer of excuses are bullshit!! They are professionals.

I paid for and I didn’t receive what I expected to receive!!

And how reliable is Steinberg? The problem is still there after 10 years! They should ask information to resolve the problem, but they are not interested in apparently.

I’ve seen enough in differents posts about. Don’t be arrogant please.

Pot, kettle, black…?

Do you expect help or do you just want to rant and be aggresive here?

@MattiasNYC has already told you what has impact on the issue, but you even don’t give any hint on what kind of system you have.

State your problem. You can’t blame Cubase for what is likely to be a computer problem.

I don’t expect any help from Steinberg, becaus they don’t have any After Sales Service which works.
I’m not agressiv, I’m frustrated with Cubase. It’s easy to understand, I spent a lot of money with something that doesn’t work.

When I bought Cubase, I bought a new pc which one the best I could have for the money I spent for.

Yes, you are right.

This is a user forum and there are many users around here that help others and have proven that they can solve a lot of issues.

But of course it is much easier to blame Steinberg for everything that is not working immediately.

Which was 2017, right? So hardware has been slightly improved since then.

Have you ever tried to find the cause of the problem in your hardware? Just as a wild guess, what about latency in your system, completely outside of Cubase. Try LatencyMonitor and see what it tells you

lol… yeah… “slightly”…

Yes, you are true. Spending once again more than 1500€ for a new pc with a better sound card and I still know that the problem still exist in Cubase Pro 12…

I give up. I’ll try with another software when I have the money for.

Ok, well, we tried to make you understand what you could do so that we could maybe help you out. Most people on this forum actually try to help each other.

Instead you’re telling us we’re spouting BS and now you’re leaving, so… “good luck” I guess.

PS: Some of us make a living off of Cubendo, every work day, every week, for years. But I guess “what do we know”, right?
