When trying to open an audio file I’m getting "could not read the file (stage 3 state 0 error 1). I had been able to do this with 11.0.40 but not since. I must caveat this with the fact that I have also upgraded to Cubase14 artist from ver13 in between so cannot exclude that interaction. Spectralayers 10 still works fine so although i could work around by opening in 10 then saving a project to open in 11 (which seems to work) I would like to know if there is any way to fix this other than upgrading the OS.
Is FFmpeg 7.0.2 supposed to be installed on the Macbook which is hoping to run Spectralayers 11.0.60?
Spectralayers 10.0.50 doesn’t credit this third party and works fine but 11.0.60 does.
What type of file? Have you tried reconverting?
It was all types of audio files. only projects would open. I’ve had to upgrade to Monterey and it works fine now but unfortunately I won’t be able to help anyone else with Big Sur. Homebrew which is a package manager for installing items like FFMpeg warns that it doesn’t support Macos 11 (big sur) and as a result was not a path to install FFMpeg. there had been some mention of Rosetta 2 but that is only for M chips.
In short Steinberg should not state that their current build of Spectralayers 11 supports Big Sur because this error was to do with a significant difference between legacy OS’s.
