For anyone wishing tom use a Joystick to control elements in Cubase.
There is a free to download program called JoyToKey which can map any USB game controller to mouse or keyboard actions. In my case I have a Logitech Attack 3 Joystick used with Flight Simulator. I wanted to use a joystick to manipulate an X/Y Matrix in some UVI’s synth and record the data as automation in Cubase (Pro 14 right now) and it works extremely well.
Any other game controller with a joystick can also be used, like Sony PlayStation or X-Box, etc. The program is simple to understand and no other mappings are necessary. After you map the joystick to mouse movements and buttons, Cubase immediately recognizes it. The program also allows to change to mouse speed when pressing a secondary button. So no adjustments are necessary under Windows-Setting-Devices-Mouse Speed.
