recording even though record is disabled

Record enable is off for each channel in the project window and the mixer, yet hitting play activates record for the selected track. This has happened a few times in the last couple of months, and I’ve always closed and reopened Cubase to fix it. Today I had to close/reopen twice before it started behaving normally.

Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong?

I haven’t seen any other report like this. And even on your side it seems to be rare, right?

Maybe trashing Cubase preferences would help.

You’re right, it is rare.
Does this sound familiar to anyone else?
Good to know I’m not doing anything wrong, at least!

I’ll trash the preferences as you suggest. Thanks for your advice.
