Recording using Yamaha DTX452K

Hi all,

Apologies as I am a complete newbie to Cubase but hope that someone may be able to help.

I’ve downloaded Cubase 10 LE as I want to play around with recording my electronic drum kit (Yamaha DTX452K). I believe that the drum brain might be able to act as an audio interface, which I’m currently attempting to connect to my laptop with a USB A to USB B cable.

Played around a little bit no joy. Can someone give me a basic list of instructions of how to easily set this up so I can start recording?

Sorry if this is a completely obvious question but it all looks fairly confusing to my simple mind!

I would recommend to watch Steinberg Cubase Quick Start Video Tutorials.

Be aware, some menu entries has been renamed:

  • Devices = Studio
  • Device Setup = Studio Setup
  • VST Connections = Audio Connections
