Registering Wavelab 7

Can an unopened, unused copy of Wavelab 7 be registered and activated on Windows 10? If so, what is the process? I have a USB dongle for Cubase 9 Pro.

The eLicenser service has been shutdown in May 2025, so your USB dongle can not be modified anymore (it is still working, but adding new licenses is not possible anymore).

However, according to the support documentation from Steinberg old activation codes should still work

I don’t know how this is going to work, to be sure it will enable your license you should talk to support.

Thanks for the help. My DAW is on an older computer, so for now I was hoping Wavelab 7 would work. I will contact support.

Since I have been using Cubase 8.5/9, most of my wave editing options are already there. I also have many of the plugins that come with Wavelab 7. I was hoping that the tools for matching levels and EQ for a collection of songs might help.

Steinberg support responded today. Apparently only later programs can be activated under the new system since May 2025. I remember now that my Cubase Pro 9 was not on the list for switching to the newer licensing system. Of course I can still use it since I still have the active dongle.
