Rehearsal marks & position with system attached text

What’s the best way to resolve this position problem? I would hope for the 2 indications to be next to each other, not stacked in an awkward way.

If I move the text a bit to the right rhythmically, then it looks better, however:

…now there’s an extra blank measure that I really don’t want. Maybe there’s a way to specify some placement for the text so it doesn’t collide? Or a setting to allow multi-measure rests to not be broken by text?

thank you

Reset things to the way they were, and then adjust the position of the text in Engrave mode rather than Write mode.

Changes made in Engrave mode are graphic only, so they don’t affect things like splitting multi-bar rests.

Sorry maybe I wasn’t clear: What I’m looking for is a way to avoid having to reposition every rehearsal mark & system text manually in engrave mode. I would like that these common simple indications are positioned sensibly automatically.

Is there a way to configure the behavior to work better automatically? Maybe an X-offset I can specify so that the collision detection doesn’t stack them?

I don’t think a global X-offset will do the trick. If you deactivate the Avoid collisions property on the text, at least the rehearsal mark will take its ‘default’ position and you only need to move one object. But I definitely agree that that’s still time-consuming, and I would welcome any future improvements in this aspect.

Daniel has said before that Dorico currently doesn’t know how to automatically move most objects horizontally to avoid collisions, just vertically.
