Reinstalled and problem

dear Dorico friends,
I have a big problem!
Last week I couldn’t log in with my pincode, to open my computer. At least I went to the computershop and they helped me, but there are now a lot of problems with Dorico 5 Pro.
I deleted Dorico from my computer and reinstalled it again!
But now when I open Dorico the following message appeared. Everything I have to download!
But when I open the download assistant I see thats all downloaded?

Who can help me please? Maybe Ulf from Steinbherg?

Thanks!
Bernard

Yes, I can help and will post as soon as I can

It’s certainly worth installing everything again, if it says they’re missing.

Were there problems with Dorico before you deleted it? If so, what were they?

Also you don’t need HALion Sonic SE 3 – that’s an old version, which HALion Sonic 7 replaces.

Great Ulf, danke Schön,

Last year, I think September, we met each other by Zoom. You helped me at that time.
See your post!
Am letsten Jahr haben wir uns also gesprochten mit das sound problem damals via Zoom.
Ich warte deine reaction ab.

Herzlichen Grüss von mir,
Bernard

Hi @bklopman,
before reinstalling the contents, we need to establish some certainty over several aspects.
First please start the Steinberg Library Manager and check what that one thinks which sound libraries are installed and - more importantly - where they are installed.
On the right side of the each library there are 3 buttons, Move, Remove and Details. If you click on Details the installation path is shown. Please check with each sound library that it is installed underneath C:/ProgramData/Steinberg/Content. If instead it points to somewhere in your Download folder, that is bad and you should remove the library by clicking the Remove button and when prompted tell it to not only unregister that content, but move to the trash.
Once that is done, click in the Library Manager on the little cogwheel icon on the right top of the program’s window. Make sure the that installation path there is empty/blank.
If you checked that, then it is time for reinstalling.
I would start out with reinstalling the HALion Sonic Selection. Once that is done, check again for the installation path and that it is not pointing into your Downloads folder.
If in doubt or in trouble with whatever, send me a private message and we’ll arrange for a remote session.

Hi @benwiggy , I really appreciate your willingness to help also in this case, but as you can see from my answer, dealing with contents installation, especially when it went wrong, is a little bit difficult. So please don’t feel discouraged when I say it is not just a matter of reinstalling. Over the years I gained a lot of experience in the matter of contents installation and Library Manager. One thing though I still haven’t learnt so far is why it goes wrong in first place, because the Download Assistant actually does it without any user prompting, and still I see on many people’s computers twisted installations. Eventually we will get behind the scene.
Many, many thanks for your great help on so many other topics here in the forum.

Hello Ulf,

First of all, thanks for the detailed response. I will start working on it tomorrow.
Right now, I’m painting at home and want to finish that today. I’m retired now and enjoy doing fun projects.
Tomorrow, I’ll respond to let you know whether everything worked out.
I think I’d like to have an online appointment.
Fortunately, Dorico is working, but without sound for now.
I had to uninstall it because there were also errors that weren’t related to the sound issue.
I trust in your expertise—onward to getting the sound working, because Dorico is an amazing program. I worked with Finale for about 20 years!
Thanks again.

I hope this is the right email adres as a private message?

Greetings,

Bernard
