Reinstalling Cubase VST 3.5

I’ve used Cubase VST 3.5 for many years and run it on a Power Mac 9600 with a 350 mhz processor. It has always worked great.

Cubase has developed a glitch where during playback, the audio cuts out for no apparent reason. When you hit Stop, all of the audio that should have played from the time it cut out suddenly occurs all at once for a split second. It kind of sounds like someone dropped a bunch of cymbals or broken glass.

I assume something has become corrupted in Cubase, so I’m hoping that reinstalling the program will solve this. My question is, do I need to uninstall Cubase first? And if so, how do I do that? I don’t even know if the ability to uninstall software exists on the 9600 machine. If you need a timeframe on when the 9600 came out, I bought mine in 1998. I think the G3 was just coming out then.

Thanks for any help you can offer.
